This bolt was never reinstaled. This was not a case of the bolt being dropped and disregarded nor was it just too hard to get to...well, maybe it was. You can see where the student mechanic was using a chisel to remove this bolt. There are corresponding chisel marks on the intake manifold where they tried to remove other fasteners. I am NOT a mechanic but I had bolted this compressor to this engine just a few days before, it wasn't rocket science but was however apparently beyond the capabilities of this particular student mechanic.
