Brad Hogg's 1990 Daytona ES

Call it a mid-life crisis if you want but in browsing through some for sale ads in the city, looking for a more economical commuter car, I found this little number. It's not exactly a Geo Metro but it should do ok on the highway. I'm not even going to try to justify buying this car other than I wanted to. The price was right and I like the look of it so I made the purchase. The car really scoots and handles very well. I think it will make a good commuter. I have to get it safetied of course so I might not be driving it regularly for a few weeks yet.

I've determined that the car gets 33.5 MPG Hwy. That'll do just fine for a commuter.

This is from the ad...

1990 Dodge Daytona ES
3.0L V6, Auto with 199xxx kms
Water pump, timing belt, valve seals, gaskets, cv boots, joints and axle, alternator all have been replaced recently. Oil was changed for the winter.
Newer m&s tires
Tranny rebuilt at around 180,000 km.
PS, PW, PDL, P&H MIRRORS.
Clean interior, vgc for age.
cd deck w/cd changer and all new speakers.
Remote starter/alarm
Dynomax exhaust
52mm throttle body w/k&n
Full Bosch Ignition

Now the bad:
The paint is faded pretty good, but there is only minor rear fender lip rust.
The drivers side front fender has a bit of a dent.
The engine has the annoying but very common valve lifter tap. (goes away when warm)
The engines rear seal is also leaky. (not seriously)
The PS is leaking as well. (return line leaks)
And the rear brakes need repair. (really? drives and stops fine)
